Natural Selection Tee, Jiggy Visuals; Pants, Vintage
"I'm buying this band tee because in a few years, my children will want to wear it for their own vintage fashion. It's an investment."
It is amazing the amount of times I have heard someone say those exact words or something similar. I have even said it, specifically when I bought an 2016 Olympics shirt from the Urban Outfitters Surplus store for $1.00 (except instead of "children" I said "nieces and nephews").
However, these tees that we buy aren't just for the future generation, but for our own style, right now. I might be stretching it, but graphic tees have never been so in style in the 2000's until now. There has never been a time, and I mean never where an middle class18-year-old girl has the capability to buy a $560 off-white tee from Gucci in the click of a button. But here it is, the age of expensive tees.
These tees are embroidered, logo'd, and branded in order to brand the wearer, and I have never fell so hard for a trend. It's easy, freeing, and yet, with a perfectly fitted pair jeans and heeled booties, you are going to be the attention grabber.
I don't know if it was the ever-so-effortless Camille Rowe, but this year has become the year of graphic, vintage tees, high waist jeans and a kick ass pair of booties, preferably metallic. There's no limit to my tee shirt collection. Graphic, oversized, cropped, loose... you get the point.
What's your favorite T shirt you own?
